HOW TO REMOVE KNOTS OR TANGLES

By: tangleknot

Wet or dry, trying to brush or comb out a tangle in your hair can be a painful and frustrating experience. You can lessen them both by following a few simple steps.

Step One Section off the area with the tangle. You can use hair clips if you wish, to do this.

Step Two With your left hand (right if you are left handed) wrap your hand around the section of hair.

Step Three Grasp and hold the section of hair tightly. You should not be 'pulling' on the hair. There should be a bit of 'slack' - leaving the hair from your hand to the scalp 'loose'. Holding this hand / hair in place will prevent 'pulling' of the hair from the scalp when you start to comb through it.

Step Four Starting from about 1 inch from the tips of the hair, gently begin combing / brushing the hair towards the tips.

Step Five Once that area is clear of tangles, move up 1/2 inch to 1 inch at a time. With some quick, fluid, and even strokes, comb through to the end with each pass.

Step Six Repeat if needed.

Sleek Hair Sedu Style

By Michael Barrows

We've come a long way since our mothers straightened our hair with an iron and ironing board, and it has never been more evident than now. The Sedu hair straightener has revolutionized the way we straighten our hair and has proved that hair Sedu style is hair to be truly envious of.

Hair Sedu style is identified by sleek, straight, shiny and conditioned tresses, the likes of which can only be obtained by using the Sedu ceramic flat iron. This flat iron infuses hair with moisture during every step of the straightening process to ensure that hair Sedu style remains healthy, shiny, strong and vibrant.

The secret of hair Sedu style lies with ionic technology and the materials used to create the Sedu hair straightener. Hair Sedu style is achieved thanks to the high concentration of negative ions, which work to infuse moisture and shine into the inner layers of your hair.

The smooth ceramic plates of the Sedu ceramic flat iron also work like no other ordinary straightening iron to give you hair that is truly Sedu style. Ceramic tile, made from clay and hardened by fire, is a naturally moist and smooth material. When heated, it actually infuses its moisture into any absorbent material that it comes into contact with such as your hair. The results are luxurious, shiny tresses that can only be credited to the Sedu hair straightener.

Not only is hair Sedu style a step above styles created with ordinary flat irons, hair Sedu style also boasts of tresses that are up to three times smoother and silkier than those that can be achieved with other ceramic flat irons. Additionally, the Sedu hair straightener uses ultra-smooth plates which guarantees smooth straightening motions that will not pull or break your hair. This all results in truly healthy and silky hair Sedu style.

Sedu styled hair is also a breeze to achieve and maintain. The Sedu flat iron cuts straightening time in half and heats up to the desired temperature in less than 25 seconds. This means that not only will your hair style be gorgeous, it will also take you a fraction of the time to go from frizz to sleek than it does when using conventional flat irons.

And the consistent heat held by the ceramic plates of the Sedu flat iron means that your hair will be shiny and frizz free throughout. From the roots of your hair to the tips of your tresses, your hair will be beautiful when you achieve hair Sedu style.

Sedu styling is also great for every type of hair imaginable. From fine, limp and damaged hair to coarse, thick ethnic hair, the Sedu hair straightener can be adjusted to suit your particular needs. This is possible because of the flat iron's adjustable thermostat, which allows you to choose a heat setting that is perfect for you to achieve hair Sedu style.

As you can see, there are many beautiful benefits associated with the Sedu styling. What are you waiting for? Why not see what the Sedu hair staightener can do for your look today.

Beauty Tips and Lip Plumping

By: : Robert Baird

Lip have been the most important part of a woman's beauty since past. Every girl today admires one or the other actresses in the Hollywood and wishes to have lips like theirs. These actresses have a specialty of having protruded lips or full lips. Every girl wishes to have these full lips. These lips increase the beauty of their lips and make them more kissable and lustrous. Moreover they apply cosmetic to their lips to make them further more beautiful. Cosmetics like lip gloss, lipsense, lip pencil, etc are used for this purpose.

Lip gloss moisturizes the lips and make them prevents them from dryness. Some lip glosses which contain oil also provides shininess to the lips and make them look more beautiful and lustrous. Lipsense imparts a semi permanent color to the lips and make them look attractive. Unlike the normal lip stick, lip sense penetrates the epidermal layer of the lips and the color becomes more effective and does not smear off easily. Lip pencil is a cosmetic which outlines the lip line and distinguish the shape of the lips on the face of the woman.

Woman who do not have full lips naturally can adopt one of the techniques used for making lips into full lips like lip augmentation, lip coloring, lip implants etc. but these techniques have their own side effects. Thankfully a technique called lip augmentation has been introduced recently. Through this technique one can achieve fuller lips easily and that too without any side effects. More over, it does not alter the look of the lips and makes them look as natural as they were before applying the technique. A great plumper is a must for effective plumping of lips. Lips plumper which contain harsh drying agents are strictly not suggested.

Hydration is very important to keep the lip plump. A lot of water should be drunk from time to time to keep the lips wet and moisturized. While applying the plumper, the mouth should be opened as wide as it can be so that the plumper does not creates cracks on the lips. But they should not be over opened because it will result in the formation of blisters on the lips. They actually inject the plumping agent into the skin of the lips and make them protrude. Though they do not have any side effects but then also they should be applied carefully.

7 Yoga Tips

By: Daniel Arnau

Your yoga practice and the way you breathe are intertwined. You won’t fully experience the benefits of yoga without first learning how to breathe properly. Yoga has been proven to relieve stress by using exercises that unify the mind, body, and spirit.

1. Talk to your doctor and explain what type of yoga poses you intend to practice. Show your doctor pictures of the poses for illustration. Your doctor may rule out specific poses if you have high blood pressure, glaucoma, a history of retinal detachment, or heart disease. Make sure you follow your doctor’s recommendations.

2. Find a yoga class that best fits your abilities. Talk to prospective teachers, and decide whether of not you can handle a program before you sign up. It’s very important to take it one step at a time. Try a few beginner classes before you attempt more vigerous classes. Don’t move ahead too quickly. Allow your body to adjust to your exercises.

3. Listen to your body and be aware of your physical abilities. You don't want to hurt yourself. Make sure the instructor understands your level of experience and any limitations you may have. Don’t allow anyone to push you ahead too quickly. Remember, this is supposed to be fun and relaxing.

4. If you can’t find a class that meets your needs, you can always practice yoga at home. There are many books, programs, and tapes available to help you get started. Search for the best products on the Internet and read reviews. Talk to others for recommenations.

5. Why not try private lessons? You can book some one-on-one sessions with a teacher in your area. Most yoga instructors offer private classes or can help you design your own program. This is a good way to get started. You can always take group lessons or practice at home after you’ve had private lessons and learned the basics.

6. Find a yoga buddy. It’s nice to practice with someone and it will help reduce injuries. It’s also a great way to keep up your enthusiasm and interest.

7. Eat lightly before practice. Wait at least two hours after meals before yoga class or practice. An empty stomach is best, but don’t let yourself get too hungry to think. You won't be able to focus on the poses or enjoy yourself during the relaxation or meditation exercises.

When you learn how to breathe, you will find that it comes naturally in your yoga practice and in time, will continue in your everyday life.

Hair Removal Methods - All About Hair Removal

By: Ricky Hussey

At one time, removing body hair was a cultural thing - in some countries it was done, in others it was not. However, in the last decade an increasing number of us - regardless of our nationalities - are removing the leg and underarm hair we once kept.

Shaving

Shaving is a utilitarian, easy, quick, and affordable way to temporarily get rid of unwanted body hair. Avoid razor rash an itchy, bumpy reaction some people get to shaving - by exposing hair to warm water for at least 5 minutes before shaving. This softens hair and makes it easier to remove.

A thick buffer of shave cream or soap lather further protects skin against shaving rash. If you frequently suffer from dry, itchy, red skin after shaving, you may find it less irritating to shave in the same direction as hair growth. Note, though, that you won't get as smooth a finish as shaving against hair's growth.

Creams

Depilatory, or hair removal, creams use thyiogylcolate - the same ingredient found in permanent waves - to melt hair. Depilatories are great for anyone who gets rashes from shaving, or who hates the coarse, blunt-edged way that shaved hair grows back. The downsides to depilatories are their intense chemical odor, and the way you must stand still for 5 to 10 minutes as the cream works. Furthermore, people with sensitive skin may find depilatories irritating.

Waxing

If you can get past the pain of having liquefied wax poured onto your skin then swiftly ripped away, then you'll no doubt love the week or two of fuzz-free skin that follows. However, regular waxing does slightly damage hair follicles, causing them to produce finer, skimpier hairs. Another downside to waxing - besides the pain - is that it breaks hair off just below the skin, which appears to promote ingrown hairs.

Sugaring works much like waxing A sticky, sugar-based paste is painted onto skin, then rubbed off, pulling the hair away with it.

Light and laser treatment

Not only can intense pulsed light be used to treat sun damage, scars, and broken veins, it also works to remove hair by temporarily inactivating the follicle, leaving you hair-free for 2 to 6 weeks.

You may have heard of eflornithine cream, a new product that slows the growth of facial hair. It is believed to work by blocking an enzyme in the follicle that is necessary for hair growth.

Laser hair removal systems use a laser to disable hair's follicles and once a follicle is destroyed, it is believed to stop producing hair. However, some research indicates that with some medications or hormonal imbalances, dormant hair follicles can be stimulated to regrow hair. Two to four treatments carried out at 4- to 6-week intervals are required. Many dermatologists are also advocating long term control of hair growth using lasers, rather than advocating permanent hair removal.

Hair removal with electrolysis

Electrolysis directs electric pulses into hair's follicles where they shock the hair's root and inhibit hair growth. It is done one follicle at a time, so it's impractical for large areas - but it is perfect for hairy chins or upper lips. It must be performed by a skilled practitioner, because electrolysis can cause slight scarring in some people.

Advantages of Taking Fiber-Health

By: David Jones

One advantage of a high starch diet is that it will almost automatically be high in fiber unless the foods are refined or highly processed.

Fiber (formerly called roughage) is a general term that refers to the substances in food resisting digestion. The amount of fiber in a food is determined by its plant source and the amount of processing it undergoes. In general the more a food is processed, the more the fiber is broken down or removed and the lower the fiber content.

The fiber content shown on food labels is usually listed as either dietary fiber or crude fiber. Dietary fiber is the actual residue of plant food that resists digestion in the human body. Crude fiber is the residue of plant food following a harsh chemical digestive procedure in the laboratory; 1 gram of crude fiber equals 2 to 3 grams of dietary fiber.

There are two kinds of fiber: soluble fiber, which dissolves or swells in hot water, and insoluble fiber, which does not dissolve in water. Each plant food usually contains a mixture of fiber types.

Soluble Fiber

Soluble fiber appears to have several favorable effects. Because it forms gel in water, it adds bulk and thickness to the contents of the stomach and may slow emptying, thus prolonging the sense of fullness and possibly helping dieters control their appetites. Studies have shown that soluble fiber lowers blood cholesterol levels. The results of 10 studies reported in the journal of the american medical association 40 showed that eating oat bran cereal or oatmeal every day can lower blood cholesterol by an average of 2% to 3%. Diets high in carbohydrates and fiber, especially soluble fiber, improve blood glucose control, lower insulin requirements, and decrease blood cholesterol and blood pressure in people with diabetes. Soluble fiber also slows the absorption of sugars from the small intestine, another benefit for those with diabetes.

Good sources of soluble fiber are fruits, vegetables, and grains. Specific foods include prunes, pears, oranges, apples, dried beans, cauliflower, zucchini, sweet potatoes, and oat and corn bran.

Insoluble Fiber

Insoluble fiber adds bulk to the contents of the intestine. This speeds the transit time of a meal's remnants through the small and large intestines. This in turn appears to offer the important health benefits.

Healthy Eating and Super Foods - 4 Health Benefits of Watermelons

By: Yuki Shoji

Think back to when you were a child and when during the summer months, the pinnacle of cookouts and family gatherings was always the cold juicy watermelon that was for desert. When you were young, eating watermelon was about taste, but now that you're older it's more than just taste that should inspire you to eat lots of watermelon each year when the season arises. This is because watermelons have tremendous health benefits that anyone who lives a healthy lifestyle should be determined to take advantage of every year. With that said, let's take a closer look at some of these health benefits this fruit has to offer.

Health Benefit of Watermelons #1: Lycopene

Lycopene is an antioxidant found in most red-colored fruits, with the exception of a few, such as strawberries. Scientific studies have shown that Lycopene reduces the risk of prostate cancer and heart disease in people, especially men, the sex most prone to these diseases. Men who eat a diet high in lycopene are much less likely to suffer a heart attack then men who don't.

Health Benefit of Watermelons #2: Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6 is an important attribute to have in a healthy diet because it promotes chemicals in the brain that help people to cope with anxiety and panic, two psychological disorders that are on the rise in America today.

Health Benefit of Watermelons #3: Vitamin C

If you thought oranges were the only fruit that could provide you with Vitamin C, think again. Vitamin C is important to not only being healthy, but remaining attractive all your life. Vitamin C boosts the immune system so that you get sick less often and it also slows down aging and medical conditions such as cataract.

Health Benefit of Watermelons #4: Vitamin A

Vitamin A works much like Vitamin C, in that it helps boost immunity, but it also help your body fight off infection. It also prevents blindness.

As you can see, eating watermelon is almost tantamount to taking a multivitamin every morning, but with a much better taste. Watermelons are seasonal, which means that they are not available all year long, like fruits such as apples, which also means that when they are in season you should make sure and take advantage.

When you go to the store to purchase one you want to try and find one that is ripe and ready to eat. The best way to do this is to knock on the outside of the rind. If you hear a hollow sound then melon is ready to eat, but if you hear solid thud put it back. The fruit is over ripe and you won't be getting very good flavor from it. Buy you water melon and eat it within the first few days of getting it home. Everything about it is healthy, and in addition, it won't leave you feeling over stuffed if you eat too much.

So the next time the weather becomes warmer and summer is approaching, don't forget about watermelons. Eat up and get the extra boost they will add to your healthy lifestyle.

Know All About Laser Hair Treatments

By: Steve Buchanan

If you hate shaving, are tired of putting up with painful waxing, tweezing, depilatory creams, and all of the time that removing unwanted facial or body hair can take, laser hair removal may be right for you. Getting rid of unwanted hair can be painful and time consuming. Until now, the only options for removing unwanted hair were smelly removal creams, sharp razors, stinging wax or painful electrolysis needles.

This treatment is supposed to be a safe process, yet dubious claims and inappropriate equipment still lead to scams and injuries. Consumers themselves must know the ins and outs of this technique to prevent themselves from getting cheated. The effects of this technique can be permanent, but there is no guarantee. The result of the treatment does not necessarily mean the area will be completely devoid of hair. While permanent removal can occur, the procedure may simply result in reducing the amount of hair in the treated area, or it can lighten the color of the hair and decrease its thickness. Results vary from patient to patient, so please check with your doctor.

Hair color and skin type are the key factors that influence the success of this technique. It's most successful on people with dark hair and light skin. However, it can also be used on people with darker skin types. During the procedure, you wear goggles to prevent accidental exposure of your eyes to laser light. When this light is activated, you feel a stinging sensation. Oftentimes a topical local anesthetic is applied before the procedure to reduce discomfort. The procedure causes a slight charring of stubble. You may notice a strong odor of singed hair, which is normal. How long the procedure takes depends on the area of the body involved. A small area such as the upper lip may take several minutes. A larger area such as the back may require several hours.

Lasers now give skin care professionals the opportunity to offer a series of treatments that are predicated by the hair growth cycles of the body that allow for a very precise method of removing hair on a permanent basis. Lasers produce a very specific form of energy, which is represented as photons or light energy. This light specifically targets the individual hair follicles in an effort to heat them. This heat, which is a bi-product of the light, then acts to disable the follicle and impair its ability to grow. The net result is, of course, long term removal.

Within about 30 minutes of treatment, the area may become pink or red. Clients describe it as mild sunburn, and this reaction usually subsides within a day or so. Because the laser does not damage the skin, no bandages are necessary. If necessary, the doctor may prescribe a topical cream to apply to the treated areas.

After treatment:

- Avoid exercise and exertion for the first 24 hours. Perspiration from exertion may increase irritation caused by the laser.

- Avoid exposure to the sun for several weeks after treatment. After this period, make sure you apply sunscreen whenever you're in the sun. Avoid tanning booths — the ultraviolet light damages the skin.

- Don't wax or pluck hairs between treatments.

- Don't pick at or manipulate the skin in treated areas.

- Don't rub or scrub the treated area. You may gently wash the area with soap and water.

Tips for Great Skin After Hair Removal

Author: Dana H

Do you have problems with your skin after shaving or waxing? Razor burn can be an irritation to some people but to most women it can be very painful. Sensitive pubic areas can be very painful and so can armpits especially when you need to put on deodorant. Waxing often leaves red dots and ingrown hairs, even when the waxing is done by a professional. There is an alternative which is used by millions of people called the Epilady.

The Epilady is a hand held device which has special spinning disks on it head which pull the hair out from its root. The disks spin at very high speeds and because they spin the can remove hair from any angle, which helps avoid the red dots that are caused when waxing is not pulled at a straight angle. Here are some tips on how to make you skin smooth and beautiful by using the Epilady.

1.Always use your Epilady after a shower or bath. The hot water will help to open the pores and relax the hair at the root, making the hair easier to remove. Remember that the Epilady is an electronic devise and should not be used in or near water.

2.Pull the skin taught, tightening any excess skin by holding it down. As the Epilady rolls across your skin, the hair will be easier to be pulled from tight skin as they stand up higher.

3. Start slowly. You will be able to feel the Epilady grab onto your hair follicles. The slower you work, the more thorough the hair removal job will be.

4.Use movements that go in the direction of the hair growth. Unlike shaving, which requires that you go against the grain of the hair, the Epilady is designed to work best with the grain of the hair. When the hair is pulled out with an Epilady, you will tend to not get the red bumps that you might otherwise get with a razor.

5.Your skin may be sensitive after you use the epilator. The best treatment is specially designed moisturizing cream called Epilady After Cream. This cream is engineered to work after epilation and won't cause irritation. You may also use a mineral oil to soother your skin. It is not advised that you use regular lotion, however, as the chemical agents in lotion can lead to rashes and skin irritations. If you follow these simple steps you will have smooth, beautiful skin, which will be hair and irritation free. For more information on the Epilady please visit http://gpcare.com/products.asp

Beauty Secrets: Be Beautiful Now

by Nellie Jamesons

Today beauty is associated with a beautiful body. From TV commercials to fashion magazines, thin women are in and those who are overweight are out. However, more than half of the population is overweight. This problem is affecting not only women but men of all ages.

A healthy lifestyle not only increases a person’s energy but it can also enhance their appearance. Most people who are overweight do not watch their diet, and that leads to unwanted obesity.
Here are some tips to follow to achieve a beautiful body through proper dieting:

1. Eat high-fiber, low fat foods such as salads, vegetables, and pasta.

2. Eat small amounts of food every two hours instead of having a big breakfast, lunch, or dinner. By doing this, the metabolism will increase and burn calories faster. Do not skip a single meal as there is less temptation to eat junk food when the stomach is full.

3. Instead of cornflakes, try oatmeal for breakfast to lower your cholesterol level. Eating oatmeal for breakfast keeps a person from wanting snacks before lunch because it is rich in fiber.

4. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. It helps cut the appetite and improves the appearance of the skin.

5. Avoid alcoholic beverages especially beer; instead, try fruit juices or iced tea.

6. Avoid sweets. Chocolate specifically can ruin the diet. Avoiding it does not mean total abstinence from it though - have some once a week!

7. Instead of eating meat, try fish. Eating a large amount of fish does not make somebody fat. When you are in good health and take care of yourself on the inside, it's bound to radiate to the outside! Find out more about fat workouts that keeps you in good, healthy shape.
